10 - Wise Building and Emotional gardening

So often when I talk to people about Cognitive Behavioural Therapy they ask me why understanding their thinking will help as it wont change any of the things that are making them feel so rough. But the thing is, as Paul says, changing the way we think really can transform our minds. And it is something that research shows again and again.

Want to know what we mean by changing perspective and challenging what we think is really important in life? This brilliant video from the guys over at alpha (its quite old now but I still love it) puts it really well.

Think the way you view yourself doesnt change the way stress affects you? Think again - read this to find out how practicing simple self-affirmation might improve the way you respond when under stress.

Want to understand more about how your thinking can change your experience of stress? This great animation/talk puts it better than I ever could
